“DSP OST-ASIATISCHE HAUPTLINIE *g1.1.1886” (D. Nürnberg) zweimal klar auf Hongkong Ganzsachenkarte 1 C. mit Zufrankatur 4 C. grauschiefer und Grußtext nach Berlin mit Ankunftsstempel, in einwandfreier Erhaltung
1871, entire letter from Agostolion, Cephalonia, to Galatz, franked with 1868/69, 40 l. lilac with full to large margins; transit marks of the Lloyd agency and Austrian PO at Constantinopel and arrival mark of Romanian PO. Very fine and scarce.
1867, Ship Mail entire letter from Constantinople (14/Dec) to Malta, showing extremely rare strike of framed «Valsamachy and Co / steam ship agents / and ship brokers / Constantinople» in blue, inside endorsed “Through”, same company blue oval cachet alongside, addressed to Golcher Esq. Malta and forewarded by Agent “EYNAUD & PARIENTE / SENSALI DI NELECCIO / ED AGENTI / VALETTA MALTA” with blue oval cachet (PROFI archive unrecorded type) on reverse. Two Mediterranean Forewarding Agent cachets on one cover are extremely scarce, tiny ink spots and file fold, otherwise fine and very rare.
1 c. ocher and 2 c. red neatly tied by cds “CANTON OCT 00” to postal stationery card 1 c. rose to Germany, additional franking Hong Kong 4 d. pearlish grey tied in transit by both cds “HONG KONG OC 7 00” and additional framed “I.P.O.” (Webb fig. 104, Canton I, rated “R”), arrival “LICHTENSTEIN” alongside. The Coiling Dragon 1 cent with a torn perf, otherwise fine, very scarce, certificate Haveman BPP (2024)
1 c. ocher vertical pair, 2 c. red and 10 c. green, tied by large cds “SHANGHAI” to registered postcard to Austria with additional Hong Kong 2 c. rose horizontal pair and 10 c. lilac/red tied in transit with small cds “HONG KONG NO 28 98”, handed over to French paquebot with hexagonal “LIGNE N 3 DEC 98” and registration circle handstamp “R” alongside, arrival “MAIDHOFEN 31 12 98”. The card with a vertical crease barely affecting one adhesive, fine. An attractive combination enhanced by the registration status

1853, QV 8 d. orange-yellow, horizontal pair, well margins on two sides, minimally touched at left and right, tied to foreign letter fragment by barred oval mark and three different cancellations alongside, including boxed ‘INSUFFICIENTLY/STAMPED’ and CALAIS 27/AOUT/55 cds. in black, COLONIES & ARTiJ in orange, fresh colours, attractive and very fine.

Crown over NSW, with 1 d. five blocks of four showing shades, 2 d. three blocks of four deep dull blue, ultramarine and cobalt-blue, 2½ d. purple with singles and two blocks of four, a splendid collection
1851/1910, Collection on eight self made album leaves, mostly used, starting imperf issues with duplicates, specialized with many perforation varieties and colour shades, margin stamps and watermark varieties including inverted wm., good cancellations and two stationery envelopes, one official. Some occasional faults, reprints noted and mixed quality.
1905/07, The unused collection on two leaves with, ½ d. shades and block of four, 1 d. dull rose, 2 d. cobalt-blue, 8 d. magenta, 10 d. violet, 9 d. brown and yellow-brown. A good lot.
1852, Lithographed by Thomas Ham 3 d. blue, imperforate, 3rd State of the dies, a used vertical left marginal pair with ample to large margins on three sides and showing portions of both adjoining stamps at right, touched on top, tied by barred oval obliterators in black to piece. Vertical pairs in this issue are significantly rarer than horizontal ones, very fine.
1890/1910, 53 covers & stationery cards including States, registered mails, perfins on cover, good cancellations, uprated and imprint stationery cards, cover 1947 bearing 2½ d. red gutter pair, mainly fine.
1884/96, Stamp Duty Series Lithographed 10 s. brown on rose, margin wmk. letters and first V over Crown sideways, variety perf. 12½ x 13, an unused example part og., centred to upper right, of excellent fresh deep colour, tiny pin hole otherwise fine and an extremely rare and elusive stamp. SG £ 2.750. (Note: SG list the 10 s. with perf. 12 all round and with perf. 12½ all round. They do not list the compound perf. offered above).

1854, Woodblock Issue 6 d. dull orange, imperforate, a fine used sheet marginal example (incl. part of bottom stamp) used on 1855 cover to Launceston, Tasmania tied by oval "2/V" obliterator and by framed SHIP LETTER - INWARDS FREE datestamp in red (Nov 15). Reverse with Geelong despatch (Nov 12), Melbourne transit and SHIP LETTER - INWARDS FREE diamond datestamp in red. Minor soiling, otherwise fine and an attractive maritime cover.

1885/95, The unused collection on two leaves with 8 d. shades, ½ d. shades (3), 1 d. yellowish-green and dull pea-green, 3 d. yellowish-brown, 8 d. bright-scarlet incl. Specimen overprint, 2 s. olive-green and apple-green, 2 s. blue-green. A good lot.
1858, Emblems Issue 4 d. pale dull rose on smooth vertically laid paper, over-inked print, rouletted 5½-6½, tied to 1858 entire letter from Geelong to Bendigo by circular "2" numeral obliterator in black, 'Geelong/ Crown / Victoria' datestamp on reverse (JU/25), transit marks Sandhurtst and Melbourne. Tiny toned and light border crease, otherwise fine and scarce cancellations.
1915/27, Kangaroo 9 d. violet, die IIB, third wmk. narrow Crown over A, an unused interpanneau horizontal pair of fine colour showing "T.S. HARRISON" imprint (N over MP) at base, superb large part og. (BW27(3)zc. $1.000)
1918, ½ d. horizontal strip of four and 1 d., all tied by cds. “RABAUL 20 SE 20” to envelope to Berlin, censor tape and violet oval cachet, the envelope small tear at bottom, still fine
1936/90, 40 covers, postal stationerys and cards starting India 3 d. carmine overprinted Bahrain on cover with content from British Naval Command to Alan Pearson, air letter to Australia, cancellations Awali, Manama and F.P.O., FDC and Concorde Flight 1976, destinations Zambia and India, parcel cards, few different, mainly fine and interesting frankings.
1938, “SS FRIDERUN HONKGONG, NEW GUINEA SERVICE”, violetter Bordstempel auf British Solomon Island 1 P. violett und 3 P. mit Stempel “TULAGI BRITISH SOLOMON IDS. 5. 1891/2024 (ca.), hundreds of covers and cards with an abundance of interesting usages, many before the 1950s, noted early postal stationery cards, some First Flight covers and censored mail, better items noted like 1895 one cent postal stationery card with additional 2 c. carmin (vertical pair) tied with cds “AMOY” via Hong Kong to Danzig, etc., except for the occasional fault in overall good condition.
1901, 4 c. on 3 c. postal stationery reply portion of double card with inverted black surcharge (Yang P14 var.) cancelled VICTORIA HONG KONG AU/21/01. Addressed to Stettin Germany with arrival mark 20.9.01, tiny corner crease, otherwise fine. PROFI recorded only one normal card with inverted overprint, reply part inverted is unrecorded.
1879 5c. on 18c. lilac on black on blue U.P.U. formular postcard, very fine and fresh, a difficult card to find in nice condition. (Yang P2)
