1897, Tai Han 10 p.- 50p., orange overprints type I, together with 3 ch., neatly tied by cds. “SEOUL COREE 29 DEC 00” repeated alongside with red framed handstamp “R SEOUL N°” to registered envelope to St Petersburg, Russia, reverse transit via Shanghai and arrival cds., 50 p. light corner crease, some minor peripheral toning at top of no importance, still very fine. A rare and early UPU cover, signed with certificates Robineau (2011) and Scheller (2011)

1858, Folded tissue-paper envelope bootlegged from Smyrna, Turkey to Boston, carried by Capt. Watson ‘Ship Henry Hill’ with 122 bales madder roots, ms. “Via Trieste” inside, letter with embossing and black sender cachet F.C. Blackler Smyrna on reverse. At arrival in US Franklin 1 c. blue type V tied by black “PAID” in circle to envelope and red “Boston Mass. Nov/12” arrival cds. on front. Tiny file fold, otherwise Very Fine and a scarce usage.

“FLANDRIA” violetter L1 und handschriftliches Datum “13/6.96” auf Ganzsachen-Doppelkarte 10 C. mit viel Text nach Osnabrück mit Ankunftsstempel. Die Karte links mit Bug und im Rand leicht schmutzig, sonst in guter Erhaltung

1951, Ho Chi Minh 2 d. brown, type I, fresh colours, tied by cds. “QUANG TRI VIETNAM” to small envelope to a city in the Quang Tri province, the adhesive revalued at 20 dong (tariff of late 1950/early 1951), alongside VNDCCH red censor “IV5”, mail seized in the interzone by French army (blue and red pencil marks), very rare usage

1956/58, four airmail covers to Germany with various combination frankings, all with departure cds. “HANOI”, mostly fine

1945, Independence Issue, 1 c., 3 c., 6c., 10 c. and 15 c. tied by cds . “HA-NOI TRUNG-UONG 8 11 46” to local envelope, fine, also a second local envelope with combination franking used with “HANOI R.P. TONKIN”, some occasional perf toning otherwise fine

1866, Treaty Ports: Shanghai, United Kingdom entire letter from London to Shanghai, cancelled 'Lombard Street / F.O./ Paid / MAR/10/66' cds. in red, endorsed "via Marseilles" on top left. For Late Fee only 1 d. red cancelled and 1/4 d. prepaid in cash by red crayon. Sent via “Care of Messrs. John Burd & Co., Hong Kong”. File fold at bottom, otherwise fine and an unusual entire. The addressee, John Anderson Esq. Mess. W.R. Adamson Co. Shanghai, formed his firm, exporting tea, silk and general merchandise in 1858 in Shanghai and became Chinas greatest export company for tea and silk. In PROFI archive no other forwarding agent covers John Burd Co. to Shanghai recorded.

1880/2006 (ca.), ca. 600-700 covers and cards, incl. postal stationery, registered, good part airmal, early material incl. e.g. Tibet Mi.-No. 7 on cover, etc., interesting cancels and cachets, etc., in box

1880/1990, Collection of Australia in a pre-printed album from the classics onwards, accompanied by two file folders of covers and postal stationery, over 200 in total. Together with New Zealand several album pages from classics on and stockbook with stamps in two albums with covers and postal stationery, containing both earlier and more recent examples.
